The Gunners rounded off their Europa League group stage with a 6-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.
And Wilshere struck his first goal in two-and-a-half years as Arsenal eased into the last 32.
The midfielder has had a terrible string of injuries over the past few years which has restricted his appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side.
But he hopes his latest performance has done enough to try and force his way into the first team as he has yet to make a Premeir League start this season.
“It’s a bit of a relief [that I scored],” Wilshere told BT Sport.
“It’s one of those games – it didn’t mean anything because we had topped the group.
“It’s one of those games you need to be in the right mind – we enjoyed it.
“We’re happy to go into the next round.
“All we can do when we get our opportunity is give the manager a headache.”
Wilshere’s goalless run stretched back 49 matches before he ended it at the 50th attempt.
And he will now be hoping to feature as the Gunners take on Southampton on Saturday (12pm).
